Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam – The Missile Man Who Ignited Young Minds
Dr. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, fondly remembered as the “Missile Man of India”, was not just a scientist or a former President — he was a symbol of hope, simplicity, and inspiration for millions. His leadership in the successful launch of SLV-III, which placed the Rohini satellite in orbit in 1980, marked a historic milestone.
He was also the chief architect behind India’s missile development programs, including Agni and Prithvi, earning him the title “Missile Man of India.”
The People’s President:
In 2002, Dr. Kalam became the 11th President of India. He was loved by the people for his humility, kindness, and deep connection with the youth. Unlike many political leaders, Dr. Kalam remained above party lines and worked tirelessly for national progress. His presidency was known as a “People’s Presidency.”
